Diary of an Edinburgher

Christmas Market

Archie was ready for Elizabeth's arrival at the appointed time, so when they'd gone off for the day, we took a wander into town to have a browse round the Christmas Market.

I must say, ten minutes or so is enough for me, even when I have working knees, but I get so tired, I always have to look for a place to sit down. However, there were rather nice foodie smells, and we had some proper proffertjes. Well, not proper in that the chap wasn't Dutch, but they did taste good.

We happened to stop at a leather bag stall, where I accidentally bought a small bag which will fit my phone and a few other essentials.

After a sit down and some chips, I wandered off homeward, and JR had a further look around, not wanting to miss anything.

I do think the food stalls are much better than they used to be - everyone was tucking in. I remember years ago eating a big flappy thing called 'Beaver's Tail' which was scrumptious. I've never seen it again, but always look out for it.

Elizabeth came back with Archie and a big bag of presents for all of us. He was allowed to wear his new hat for a photo, and he kept sticking his nose in the bag.

One more sleep, Arch!
