Christmas Weather!

It's been another windy day, but not cold at all and as you can see, the odd glimpse of blue sky!  This is the pontoon for the John o' Groats ferry, which only runs in the summer.  The pontoon spends the winter here, in the relative shelter (ho ho!) of the bay.  It was getting a good buffeting today!

First thing, before even my first cup of coffee, I went up to the sheep shed and got a sack full of straw.  I scattered it over the mud in the hens' pen and they were as happy as sand boys, scratching about in it and having a great time.  Worked a treat!

We had a very happy Christmas day, with lovely presents, plenty of food and drink, phone calls to family and friends and just generally relaxing and listening to Christmas music.  Ollie didn't send any presents, but somehow ended up getting lots of treats . . . !
