Icing

I've no doubt that somewhere on here in the past, perhaps even quite recently, I've explained my preference for the style of Christmas I enjoyed with my first wife's family, where Christmas Eve is the main event: the whole day builds up to the meal and presents in the evening. (I find the traditional version that I grew up with peaks too early.

It also fits in quite well with our complex family arrangements and, today, we - me, Dan and Abi, the Minx and miniMinx - enjoyed Christmas Eve to the full. During the afternoon, the girls iced the cake that I made a few weeks ago and have been 'feeding' ever since. Look at what a great job they did!

(The bear, as you might have guessed, was the only shop bought component.)
