Along A4086, Snowdonia, Wales
Day 4 of my solo exploration of Wales. I headed down to Snowdonia from Anglesey and decided to have a look around the area. I ended up stopping a few times, as expected, to gawk at the landscape and take a few snaps.
Tbh, i've never heard of Snowdonia prior to my joining blipfoto. One blipper, I can't remember who, posted a few photos of the place and since then I knew i'd have to visit when i'm over in this part of the world. My roomie and a couple of friends from Ireland after I mentioned I wanted to visit the place actually gave me a blank look! They thought I was talking about a place that was a product of my imagination! And to think they come from the same hemisphere as Snowdon! Lol! Anyway, i'm here and the place did not disappoint! Wales really is a paradise on earth, it is astoundingly beautiful from its seascapes to its mountain ranges. Even the defaced and glistening cliffs in Dorwic where Slate is being quarried adds a certain charm to the landscape.
My wanderings would have been limited to the villages noted on my OS map if not for the sat nav. So for this reason I can say I am glad I decided to get one.
This shot was taken somewhere in Gwastadnant along A4086 before reaching the Pen-y-pass in Gwynedd. Now if you've never been to Snowdonia then I say pack your bags now, yes now, and go and be sure to drive through Pen-y-pass and stop to bask in the glorious and breathtaking vista that is Snowdonia National Park.
You folks that live in GB are so lucky! Everything is cheaper (compared to Oz) and the landscape is simply divine. The weather, I know it sucks most of the time, is one of the reasons why the land is so lush and beautiful so when the Sun does come out to play, the land really shines! And let us not forget the wonderful and colourful history of the place! My, you've got it so good I reckon. When it's time for me to say goodbye, I will surely do so with a heavy heart. My only consolation would be i'll still get to enjoy and see this beautiful land through your photos and stories. So blip on my UK friends as there will at least be one from the other side of the world taking pleasure from your blips and wishing she was the one holding your camera! :)
