Boxed In

(A One-Act Play)

Scene: Alfonse and Bill are standing in their horsebox at a filling station between Montreal and Toronto, chatting idly while their boss gets a coffee . . .

Alfonse: "Where we going, Brother?"

Bill: "Day trip to Toronto, I think. Look over to your right and you'll see the instructions on the Boss's steering wheel."

Alfonse: "Can't see too clearly, but I think it says B-L-U-E . . . Yippeee, we're going to watch the Blue Jays. I love baseball . . ."

Bill (leaning over): "Nay, you dolt. That's a 'G', not a 'B'. And read the whole line. It spells G-L-U-E F-A-C-T-O-R-Y. Glue Factory Glue Factory!!! . . . Yikes, we're going to the knacker's yard . . ."

Together: Heelllpppp, police!!! Get us out of here!!!
