Hector's House

Went to Hohenfelden, to the Thuringer Freilichtmuseum, which is one of those places where they have whole buildings shipped in to demonstrate the changing nature of life and work in the area over time - rather like the Ryedale Folk Museum in Yorkshire, if you know it. It was pretty cool - there were a number of houses, a rickety windmill, dovecotes, a schoolhouse, a Victorian Lemonade Pavillion, beehouses and more. We were there quite a while, especially after lunch, when we were slowed down considerably by a fine repast at the period stube on-site (wurst and sauerkaut was my, rather predictable, choice and it came with mash and gravy...) In the late afternoon we had a rather unfocused wander round Erfuhrt and ate ice creams whilst the elder members of the party went back to camp to sleep it all off!

No songs.
