Last exit to Edinburgh
1. I have weird and regular Sunday night insomnia and last night was no different. I honestly don't think reading Last Exit to Brooklyn is helping matters in any way, yet I can't stop myself and end up seeing the sun rise on another week, feeling a literature infused seediness. I take some advice and go in late, try to get some sleep and feel better. It's good advice.
2. I haven't felt quite as repulsed by a book since I read American Psycho years ago. I don't think I even finished that, then I hid it so as not to be reminded. The first time that happened was when I read Salem's Lot as a teenager and every night I finished it by throwing it across my room. You'd think I'd learn.
3. Mid afternoon I head to Edinburgh to join a talk about theatre and technology at the Traverse. It's weird the way I'm feeling to have to keep spirits up, but I think I manage it.
4. I can't believe folk go to these things, who are they and why are they taking notes? I should take a leaf out of their jotter and start filling my mind with interesting thoughts.
5. I don't get home til a bit later and I take comfort in very cheesy pasta. Very cheesy indeed.
