The Moon and Venus

Back to emergency blips........and it's only the first day of the year.  Was working in the study, when I noticed that the clouds and rain had finally abated and there was even a small amount of blue sky.  Saw the moon and a bright object near it.  Too bright for a star, particularly as it was still twilight.  A quick search in the interest provided an explanation.

In other news, we visited Mum today only to find her room empty.  Imagine our surprise and pleasure to find her in the dining room having lunch. She soon tired and as we left she was going back to bed but it is such an improvement on the last week or so.
