The Giant's Grave.
To be honest I don't think this has much to do with a giant except that if the uprights really are at the head and foot then the person inside must have been very big.
Whatever it is, it is in Penrith churchyard and is called the giant's grave. It is probably about a thousand years old and is one of quite a number of ancient objects which appear in Cumbrian churchyards and show viking influence in the carving. They are usually called crosses. There is a fine one at Gosforth.
