Saturday: English Bay

Well, it's just as well that we didn't have any particular plans at home for New Year's Eve, otherwise they would have been firmly scuppered.  K. and I were just settling down for a festive evening when we had a power cut - it started at 6pm and the power didn't come back until 2am.  So we had a candlelit evening, playing the same 20 songs that I have on the iPad and playing backgammon.  At 2230 we went for a walk in a completely dark neighbourhood with no light pollution at all - it was almost eery.  We did come across the team trying to sort the problem - we had had heavy snowfall earlier in the day and the weight of the snow brought a cable down.

We were in bed before midnight, reading with torches.......

We did venture for a walk earlier in the day, along English Bay.
