Shadow puppet

Last night we stayed with dear friends and had a jolly good time. In the bedroom was this shadow puppet. When I asked my friend about she told me this little story.
In the mid seventies she travelled across central Java with her then husband and 2 year old daughter, in a horse drawn cart. She described it as going back in time. She purchased the puppet there, having seen them being used to entertain people. A little like our traditional Punch and Judy.The plays are always accompanied by drummers and singers.
Fascinating I think, to learn about others adventures.
