Solace Day 4.

The end of the line!  If we were to continue another half mile or so we would be on the River Trent.  We have cruised the Trent before but time constraints meant turning just below Shardlow Lock was our best option.

Despite what the picture looks like no narrowboats were harmed in the taking of this shot.  Richard performed a beautiful 180 degree turn while I waited to operate the lock again.  He managed the winding hole without touching either bank and the other narrowboats were beyond the winding hole.

We ended the day as usual with a nice meal a few drinks and some DVDs.
