2016 Saturday -- Last 2016 Postcard
These are some random last day of the year shots gathered in a collage. Our friends, Jim & Marilyn are visiting and staying with us for a couple days. They live in Seattle and have been to southern California for the Christmas holiday.
Marilyn has kids and grandkids in SoCal and Jim has two adult kids and they and their kids flew in from Texas and the day after Christmas they all went to Disneyland.
Then Jim & Marilyn drove to Vegas for a 3-night stay. Their final stop -- here in Cayucos with us on California's Central Coast -- is for two nights. They arrived here yesterday afternoon.
Marilyn has family here in our area. Her former sister-in-law, De'An (pronounce dion) is in the photo with Marilyn. We met the family for a late afternoon lunch and they invited us to come out for an evening New Year's Eve party, and we did.
The party was at a small brew pub in Los Osos that has more outdoor seating than indoor. The weather was too cold to be outdoors, but the heaters helped some and so did the available blankets. A happy group of people had gathered to party in the New Year, but we headed back to the house before midnight because Marilyn & Jim leave early in the morning to drive back to Seattle (a 2-day journey), and they wanted to get to bed.
Mr. Fun & I are in the bottom right corner of the collage. So that is our New Year's Eve story for 2016. It was 48 years ago this evening that our daughter was born. She lives at our home in southern California.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
