As idle as a painted ship
A severe frost this morning then the most fabulous day - crisp, very cold with an incredibly clear light. TJ came round for a post Christmas catch up, with news that dolphins had been spotted in the bay. In the afternoon we had a wonderful bracing walk around a small headland and there out across the bay were the humped backs and spoutings of many dolphins - they seemed to be in several groups strung out down the bay. Little fishing boats were out catching stuff (!) and we saw a much decomposed seal, ribs laid bare; a heartily eaten torso of a gull in a fluff of its own feathers and a honking of cormorants flying low over the water. The sun was lowering and clouds gathering on the horizon as we wandered back - no fiddling here, just as it was.
And the first blog entry of the year has been accomplished.
Extra is Chirp looking festive in the frost.
