Hector's House

Bauhaus

One more city of culture: Weimar's such a biggie that we had to split up - the Bischoff's had some Goethe and Schiller stuff to do and, pausing only to pose with the aforementioned duo in Theaterplatz, the Primes went a bit more modern and rocked on over to the Bauhausmuseum which, as you might expect, was concise, thought-provoking and beautifully designed. We went to Nordsee for lunch and then had a look at the Herderkirche, which was being renovated inside and looked pretty weird all wrapped in plastic. The fact that Cranach's massive Crucifixion triptych was still in place behind the altar, covered only by a clear plastic curtain, was particularly strange, and curiously moving.

Today's songs: 'LA Woman' by the Doors, oddly enough (I think maybe holidays make me go a bit classic rock!), developing later, with crushing inevitability, into 'Bela Lugosi's Dead' by the other Bauhaus.
