The cygnets preening their feathers.

There are four grown up cygnets with their parent swans who have made their home on our stretch of the Leeds Liverpool canal.
They always delight me, and this morning I spent about half an hour taking a few photos of them, as they waited to get fed on scraps of bread from the canalside café.
The parents were guarding them on the water but the young ones were quite at home with cyclists and walkers going past while they attended to their preening activities.
It has been a lovely bright sunny day and very cold indeed.
