Oh Yes It Is!
A lovely Christmas present from Gill and Geoffrey - two tickets to go and watch Cinderella, Loughborough Town Hall's panto this year, on until Sunday 9th January.
It was an astonishingly accomplished production. The cast was more than competent but I'm sure there were even more production people involved. The two panto dames, aka The Ugly Sisters, had more costume changes than I could count. And SUCH costumes. They were able to move but sometimes it was more like a shuffle. They must have had two dressers each. The wigs and hats changed each time as well.
The set was very well designed. But the piece de resistance had to have been the magic coach which bore Cinders away to the palace at the end of the first half. It was breathtaking, moving right out of the back to the front of the stage and becoming airborne.
Tickets have sold well. You might be able to find one before the show ends this coming weekend.
Afterwards, we rushed home to fetch Basil and a basket of goodies before returning to Gill's for a convivial supper with her, Geoffrey, Deirdre and Michael.
Gill had hoped to use up all her leftovers but there was still plenty left when we rose from the table. Home at midnight. Oh yes we were. I don't think we look like pumpkins yet!
