Ouch
Spent most of the night on the web trying to find out about the mobile phone market. The two criteria - a bigger display than the last one and a FM radio on board.
Had to be in Memmingen early at the internist specialist to have blood sucked out for tests. Had been delayed from the routine visit to him recently as he wanted in particular to test Vitamin B for which one needs to be "starved", i.e. not eaten for hours before. As it was so early, the shops not opened so no chance to have a quick look at phones.
Overnight had come up with one but it's not for me and I'm not paying for it, so tried to get Angie to go off to the shops and take a look herself, especially as the colours available were limited and perhaps not to her liking ,,, and then the cover .......
She did phone the two big electrical discount shops in Memmingen which either didn't have any or only in the most questionable colour - pink/gold. Luckily the one of the shops branch in Mindelheim had a bit of choice. Angie though asked me to go, surprisingly trusting my choice.
So on a very frosty beautiful morning set off and got the new one. Colour choice had been reduced in the hour since calling so either the dreaded pink/gold or gold. Gold it was. Got a transparent cover which shouldn't cause hassle and when asked if I wanted to put a protection on the glass, I first said no as the foil package I saw on the shelves cost 22 €uros. Then the very helpful salesman said it wasn't foil but glass and then on his mobile demonstrated with a carpet knife and a door key what the glass protection did. Amazing. He also put the very thin glass protection on, a fiddly job I would not have managed.
Back home Angie seemed pleased and I set to work trying to set the thing up, hampered by the fact that her old Samsung was totally dead and we had not done any back ups. I was though able to get most of the information on the SD card and by using a cable, some more info and data on the phone.
