After the Storm

We spent a happy few hours at the Botanic Gardens today, and particularly enjoyed this exhibition of furniture which is a celebration of renewal using timber blown down at the gardens during Cyclone Andrea in January 2012.
I liked this table which has been designed as if it is trying to withstand the wind, 'M' had other favourites.
The rugs which are also part of the exhibition are spray painted lino, and work very well.
This is a quote from the show:
'Before coming together in an exhibition the pieces of furniture will be photographed standing in the spot where the original tree stood, emphasising the ideas of sustainability and perpetuity that are realised when you transform the fallen into the beautiful and useful.'
