Time Travel, Anyone?
This isn't about that kind of time travel -- it's all about backing up the precious contents of your computer hard drive, so that if when it crashes, you can delve into the past and retrieve the previous copy you so thoughtfully saved.
Cynthia's MacBook was on the verge of crashing because the hard drive was almost full. The hard drive on my iMac was only 25% full, but it hadn't been backed up since October, because my backup drive was too small. I'd also been having a few random problems with the iMac.
Something needed to be done, and it was done very competently and professionally this afternoon by Rob Maxwell of RDMACS. His recommended hardware for upgrading the wireless router and increasing backup storage capacity was the all-in-one Apple Time Capsule.
After Rob left, I went to our local Mac reseller and bought one. Like all Apple products, it was a breeze to set up, and it looks beautiful -- perfection in form and function.
Next project -- replace the LCD display on C's old Panasonic ZS3 P&S. I found a great YouTube video showing how to do it. All it takes are the right tools and a steady hand -- I might have a problem with the steadiness.
