Hardknott Pass

With my foot feeling a bit better, I thought a good test was in order. My lightest, most comfortable boots on, and a drive over Wrynose and Hardknott Passes took us to the start point. We went in the Defender today, good job too as parts of the passes were pretty icy!

Parking at the Eskdale end of Hardknott, the walk took us over both Green Crag and Harter Fell (the Eskdale one) putting my wainwright total up to 197 and Debs up to 202.

Almost 10 miles of walking, in the wettest, boggiest ground I've come across in a long time. Soaking wet feet by the end of it - but dry socks and shoes in the car. Cold day too, but great to get the Wainwright total back on course.
