Lesson
It seems so obvious but when going for a biggish ride either make sure you've got enough food with you or make sure you stop somewhere en route to buy some more food. By the time I got back (after one poxy cereal bar in 101km) I pretty much ate everything in the house. All good now, but for those last 20km or so I could actually feel my energy levels dropping with every pedal stroke.
Still, a great ride - out along the coast to Aberlady, inland via Drem, East Linton and Tantallon to North Berwick, then back along the coast to my Edinburgh home which contained a fridge full of food. Did I mention how I was *really* hungry when I got back?
