Last Burst of the Mayhem

A rather slow start to the day after the shenanigans of last night...

However, I rallied round enough to go down to the photographic exhibition in Great King Street. They have it every year, but I don't remember having to pay. I happened to have the required £3 (OAP - evidence needed. As I was fumbling around for my 'evidence' she said - 'I believe you!').

I'd tried to pass off the three £1 coins as £6 last night when I paid for a Vietnamese roast pork belly baguette at George Square. Not sure if she believed me when I said I'd just been in Australia and the smaller gold coins are $2 there. S'true!

Anyway, in to see the exhibition complete with complimentary catalogue. Some stunning shots, but I can honestly say I see just as good photos, if not better, every day on blip. There should be a blip exhibition!! blipcentral take note.

From there I wandered up to My Club to meet up with JR. I enquired about the Festival Firework tickets. They are sponsoring them, and guess what - they were giving away free tickets. I missed out on tickets for the wine and nibbles before party, followed by seats in the bandstand! I will be ready for that freebie next year!

I was feeling a bit of a cold coming on, and so I came home after two coffees and reading the papers. But as I came past the Royal Mile, I couldn't help but jump off the bus for one last wander in the mayhem.

The predicted torrential rain held off, but the skies were leaden most of the day. I saw a man playing a ladder. And a man playing a saw. Maybe they should get together and form a group.

I chose this chap today, mainly because I liked the flames. The coalman/ miner chap from yesterday was not having smoko today and had a big crowd around him. The woman with millions of bits of metal stuck through her face was very coy and put her umbrella in front of her face when she saw a camera. The Silver Man with the ball was there as was the Gold Girl with the hoola hoop. Feel like I know them. They've been every day, and worked hard. Hope they made plenty of money.

Actually, the Gold Girl with the hoola hoop was at my bus stop and only raised a few second glances. I suppose she didn't want to get caught in the impending rain and have her gold make up run.
