Pseudo-passarine
The perching birds are called passerines. This cormorant obviously had ambitions beneath its station.
From a distance I had spotted a large bird in a tree and wondered if it might be a buzzard or other bird-of-prey. Once I had got closer, it was obvious that it was a cormorant. In fact there were two of them but they were too widely separated to make a decent blip with both in.
Not your usual cormorant image (Phalacrocorax carbo).
