Ivy

Tried the walk I did on the 5th again today and with more success. It did involve ignoring one of the way markers half way round but further on it was clear that I had made the right choice this time and I was able to find my way back.

It was soggy and muddy underfoot but there were some nice little woodland bits that I can imagine will be full of flowers and butterflies later in the year. I look forward to finding out.

I lacked inspiration for my picture today. There was one of a train going under a road bridge (I take one like that every day just in case, although more than half are just the bridge and no train) and a couple of a little brook I walked parallel to for a while. In the end I preferred the texture and light of this ivy leaf photo.

One positive thing is that taking photos is forcing me away from my desk at lunchtime. Today work seemed beset with odd problems. Nothing serious but a lot of strange little queries that people raised. Investigating those meant little or no progress with anything else. Hopefully tomorrow will prove to be more productive.

If the weather forecast for this area is correct then there may be pictures of snow to be taken tomorrow.
