We were coming from an exhibition on the renown French actor Coluche (1944-1986) at the Hôtel de Ville (Paris's City Hall) nearby. Coluche is most often thought of a as a comedian, but he did many things, including setting a motorcycle world speed record in 1985. Less than a year later he died in a motorcycle accident. The show was wonderful, as are all the exhibitions in that venue (and they are free--here's one two years ago on the photographer Brassai). We were relatively late and thus only had a short wait to enter. A French site on the Coluche show is here.
