Hibiscus tiliaceus
This is a flowering tree that is native to the Old World Tropics (Africa, Europe and Asia(.
However, it is now a common coastal plant in Eastern and Northern Australia and has become naturalised here. We mainly see these in white or mauve with a deep red centre. I picked this specimen from my hairdresser's garden about 15km out of town.
