Railway arches.
Kanyl needed to go to Hexham Hospital to return some equipment his late wife had been using. Clickychick and I decided we would enjoy the run out and go with him. Despite the warnings of snow over night the roads were clear (apart from the first hundred yards from both our houses).
After visiting the hospital we went a little further to Brocksbushes Farm shop where we had lunch and an enjoyable time watching the birds at the feeding station just outside the window. These included Moorhen the first time I have seen any at a feeding station.
On the return journey we stopped just off the Haltwhistle bypass to look at the viaduct which used to carry the railway line to Alston over the Sout Tyne. Strangely it wasn't a casualty of Dr. Beeching having struggled on until May 1976 before finally closing.
This shot was taken under the viaduct looking through arches which had been built into the pillars holding up the viaduct. Mono seemed to suit the shot.
