At Last a More Benign Day

7.4C and mostly cloudy with some bright spells and some gaps in the cloud. The Wind slowly moderated yesterday evening and through the night was a NW/MMW moderate breeze with occasional gusts to 32 mph. From this morning things have settled to a more benign N/E/SSE/NE light breeze.

Maeve the Deerhound was restless through the night although there was no chimney noise. She seemed determined she wanted to sleep in the living room. I finally got up at 5am and took her for a walk after which she was allowed in the living room. I sat with her and did a crossword and read the Radio Times.

I had a walk by myself round to one of the supermarkets and went along to the harbour and back along Longrow before 10am for a breath of air. I took Maeve out for a short walk before lunch.

Maeve and I went for our walk after lunch. It was good to be out without waterproofs and several layers of clothes. A fleece jacket for a change. I didn't feel much like walking far. Enya (The Celts then Shepherd Moons) on the Clip. We went round to the harbour, which has been a dependable source of pictures of late, then along the park and out to the cemetery. The harbour was busy. There were lots of boats in. Viking Gripfisk had been joined at the old quay by Viking Caledonia, and Ronja Supporter was still at the new quay with a fishing boat berthed next to her bow.

We came back home through town but not past the town hall or bookshop.
