Scales Fell

The view south west from Scales Fell.

This was a 'training run' for Blencathra. We decided to retreat today (with Sarah) due to various technical and logistical issues (late start, car stuck on boggy ground, my back .......)

I discovered ages ago that a late start in the mountains is always a bad idea. I also learned not to be consumed by summit fever! (Difficult) Today the Scales happened to fall in the wrong direction.

One person's Blencathra is another person's K2 I had to remind myself.
There were many people out there today savouring the spectacular views and beautifully crisp conditions.
