Sunshine girl

About 30 years ago, I can remember walking through the streets of Edinburgh with two friends. It was the first sunny day of the year. One of my companions had previously worked in Fiji, and I had spent 4 years in the tropical heat of Ghana. We both chose to walk on the shady side of the street. The third person, however, had spent all his life in Scotland - and he welcomed the opportunity to walk in the sunshine.

This photo makes me think of that day. Both Jess & Molly are aware that something is happening outside the gates. A few moments ago, all the dogs in the area were barking. Although things have quitened down now, they are both still alert (and on duty!) Jess chooses to wait in the sunshine, while Molly lies in the shade.
