Why the fuss?

As I was coming downstairs, I could hear Jess in the garden. (She was just saying "Good morning, Ralph.") Upstairs, Mrs jml opened the bedroom window and shouted at Jess to shut up!

By the time I got to the kitchen, Jess had come inside and parked herself in the doorway, looking indignant. You can just about hear her asking what all the noise was about!!
