Derelict Sunday: "Generel Repairing"
Bitter temperatures again today. This afternoon we took a drive toward Goldendale, Washington. I was on the hunt for a blip for Derelict/Decrepit Sunday. When we passed this defunct business, I knew I had found it! Spelling wasn't this business owner's forte, and it looks like auto repair wasn't either!
One of the extras is a capture of Stacker Butte with a train trestle in the foreground. It is on the Swale Canyon section of the Klickitat Trail, part of the national Rails to Trails program. At one time trains carried grain from Centerville and Goldendale using a steam locomotive. The train offloaded the grain onto barges in the Columbia River at Lyle Point.
The other extra is a derelict barn in the area. This type of barn was generally used to store hay with horses in the center section, and wagons in the outer sections.
Thank you for your supportive comments, stars and favorites for yesterday's blip, "The Frosted World", I appreciate it!
