Dunas de Maspalomas

Today in the town of Aguimes where we are staying it was the festival of San Sebastián. Farmers brought in their finest goats and cattle to parade them around the main square, rosettes were given and all were very well behaved, There was s..t everywhere! Then we headed south to explore the Dunes of Maspalomas. An amazing area of sand dunes between two busy resorts and the ocean, the area is protected but that must be quite a challenge with the numbers of people wondering through the dunes off the designated walkways. The sun was sinking on the last stretch of the walk and the scrubby vegetation came alive with the sounds of birds. A few extra pictures today.
