Dominic and the Grey-crowned Crane

Today's the day .......................... to see wildlife

A visit today with Dominic to the excellent Lakeland Wildlife Oasis  near Milnthorpe.

It's a very friendly place and they seem to care for their animals very well.  There's just enough for a small boy to be able to take it all in easily - and lots of things to look at down at his level.  He got to stroke a snake and look very closely at the leaf-cutter ants.  He loved the meercats - but probably the wildlife that most took his fancy were these grey-crowned cranes.  They put on a special display of crazy behaviour just for him.

We were fascinated to see the two snow leopards.  They are obviously doing very well and they have already bred so successfully that apparently they are going to be separated this year - before they get the urge to do it all again. 

Seemed a bit harsh to me ..........................
