German War Graves Cemetery, Cannock Chase

I intended to capture some heather shots on the Chase this morning, but came across the German War Cemetery while I was trying to find a good composition. They have recently re-planted heather along the rows of gravestones.

It is just over 50 years since the cemetery was established and a new plaque commemorates the co-operation of the County Council (who manage the Chase) and the German War Graves Commission over half a century. The small cross in the foreground has a small 50 on it from the ceremony.
