Reading Room

I attended a work related crime reduction conference at the British Library today.
Am ashamed to say that I have never visited it before, so took the opportunity during the lunch break to have a wander around the public bits - you have to have a pass to access the reading rooms and there are strict rules about conduct, one of which is "pencils only".

It's a fantastic space filled with light (and books obviously) and lots of nooks and crannies to hide away in.

The library's gigantic archive houses a copy of every book published in the U.K. Somewhere in the bowels (or library equivalent of a shop's bargain bucket) will be the few children's books I illustrated years ago - it is a strange feeling to know they will still be there years after I am gone.

A few extras in extras.
