The Waves of Chatter...

I was sitting in the room waiting for the presentation to begin. Just sat next to someone who was already in slight conversation with someone else so I was left to my own devices.

I just sat and tried to absorb the pre-presentation chatter. It was very interesting listening to the different waves of voices rolling over each other, building up into massive cacophonies and then settling down into gentle ebbs and sometimes almost disappearing when some change on the large screen signalled an almost but not quite, start to the proceedings. Trying to take in four and five different voices is quite hard, following conversations....impossible.

And then the presentation started. Not completely disinteresting but not nearly as interesting as the pre-meeting waves of chatter.
