I have been so wrapped up in my own history and current affairs this week that I completely forgot to draw your attention to this.
By the end of my first week of chemo-radiation therapy in Thessaloniki I had worked out that if I hadn't left the hospital by 10am on Friday morning I would not be able to get home for the weekend. The staff in the radiotherapy suite understood this and so my Friday appointment was always rushed through as quickly as possible.
A huge hospital in Greece's second-largest city with thousands of out-patients and yet care is still tailored to suit individual needs. It's not about targets and statistics, it's about individuals and care.
