Fields
We were all weary this morning. TT got up and went to church, while BB and I took things much more slowly. After a few chores, I sat down to do my bit for the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch. It was a lovely sunny morning, but the birds were in very short supply. Two big fat pigeons did eat constantly at the bird table for about the first thirty minutes. Once they had cleared the table, one of them spent a bit of time perfecting its balancing skills so it could get in about one of the seed feeders! My pitiful total was: 3 woodpigeons, 3 sparrows, 1 crow, 1 seagull, 1 magpie, 2 blackbirds.
BB was invited to a friend’s house for the afternoon. He scooted off about 12.30. TT and I decided we needed to get out in the sunshine to blow the cobwebs away. We headed south to Coldingham, and had a lovely walk to St Abbs and back around to Coldingham. We wanted to have a look at the priory ruins, but we were out of the sun and had to keep walking to keep warm, thankfully we were back in the sun quite quickly. We had a late lunch in St Abbs, trying out a café we had never been to. We walked back to Coldingham Bay and beyond. TT who was in charge of the route, took me up the side of a very muddy valley, only to find that we couldn’t follow our route, as we were unable to get across a ford to the path we needed to take. We therefore had to retrace our steps, take an alternative route, and arrived at the ford from the opposite direction, but were able to continue our walk, as we were now on the right side of the burn.
It’s been a quiet evening on the sofa in front of the TV.
I like the colours and shapes of these fields, as spotted from the Creel Road. The extra is St Abbs independent lifeboat station.
