Alnmouth Beach

We drove home today via the A1 and stopped off at Alnmouth. Picnic in the car, then we went to look for the swing park. Orla was playing 'Grumpy Old Troll' with Ed. She was going up the chute and he had to sit underneath it. She was the billy goats' gruff and he was the grumpy old troll. Tears when we told her it was time to leave. We had hoped to go to the Dandelion cafe, but it shut at 4pm. So instead we got ice creams from the van in the car park and headed on to the beach. Luckily Orla's bucket and spade were in the boot of the car, so we spent a little while building sand castles. It was lovely. Big waves, moody sky but nice and warm. She absolutely loved it.
