The character of Newport Pagnell
Before the rain, we took a longer meander into town and our recently discovered dog-friendly hotel for a coffee and chat with Rich's mum. The drizzle had started to set in by the time we headed back for lunch.
Originally a hospital, then almshouses, these are the Queen Ann's Hospital Almshouses which go back to 1287. This current version was re-built in 1891 and the road heading left, you can just see, is heading over the only iron bridge in Britain still carrying main road traffic. It seemed a fitting aged look for a grim afternoon.
A clear run home and three episodes of Series 3 - Line of Duty. It's rather good!
