Oh no, you didn't...?
Yes I did - left the cable behind, so I can only download photos from the mobile, not the DSRL. Oh well, there wasn't much on it, just won't be able to blip with it this week. The Nikon is still waiting till there's enough spare cash to get the photometer mended. Wonder when that will be...
Not much outdoor activity today, unless sorting papers on the verandah counts. I heard our two elusive newcomers, the Procnias Nudicolis (araponga in Portuguese), with its metallic cry that resembles a hammer striking an anvil, and an LBJ that I tracked down last night and heard again this morning, which makes a highly repetitive - and rather tedious - cawing sound. At first I thought it was a large bird, quite far off, but it turned out to be quite small and very close. Anyway, both are extremely elusive, particularly the Araponga, which I have only managed to spot once.
In to town before heading down the hill, to fix something on the car and apply for a certificate from the land registry office. Nice quiet ride down, with light traffic, and not quite so hot here - yet - as last week.
The extra photos are of the ruins of a lovely old building - not sure what it was - which should have been preserved, but was demolished a couple of years ago. Obviously no good has come of it, as the lot appears to be abandoned. The second is of a building in the same style, a little further up the same road, to illustrate what has been lost.
