Getting tamer?
Had a nice lie-in this morning, then a highly domestic morning in the kitchen while HH played golf. I’ll be going down tomorrow and he’s planning to stay up, so I thought I’d better leave some food for him. Most wives of my generation would have planned to leave a weeks’ worth of food, but he’s never got me properly trained – normally I would be leaving him entirely to his own devices, not sure what got into me today.
Went to collect him after golf, not intending to stay long, but various friends turned up and somehow we wound up drinking a few beers. So lunch didn’t happen till past tea-time, and now it’s probably time to think about supper.
Snuck out with the camera just before dark, hoping to see the same baby-fluffy humming bird as last week. Taking up station near the orange flowers he likes (all nearly over now) I could hear him protesting at my presence, but it took me a while to spot him. He didn’t move away, even when I parted the leaves to get a bit closer, but he didn’t come down to the flowers either and stayed obstinately backlit. I’ll try again tomorrow.
