Mad or
Daft.
I gave Kris away... for the day.
My supervisor Dave, borrowed her to "knock of some corners" and meet her new boarder who has her for a day next week. She and her sausage dog, won't have the vastly experienced dog handler that brought her to visit, with her next week. Wishing her good luck.
So I had a day off.
Drove to Dundee t pick Ru up at 0930 to take him to an interview at Olympia. After washing my car the previous afternoon and it being -5C when I started the car, it took me 5 minutes to defrost it.
I started off up the motorway into the roadworks and the fuel light came on. Well actually the gauge said I had NO fuel. Stuck on the motorway for 11miles, I slowly limped to Perth. Put £20 worth fuel into tank and set off to Dundee, getting later and later for Ru. Hands free calling Ru (isn't technology wonderful) to get him to start walking, so I could pick him up easier I realised that the fuel gauge had not moved.
Got Ru to interview, bought boots in a sale in Brantano ( which leaked the first time I wore them). Took Ru for a late breakfast. Poor lad had been on night shift and was shattered after his interview and timed swim test, he didn't think he did very well as he was brutally honest during the interview. Ah well, he has a job, even if it's permanent nights. Drove him back to flat where Nicola was, so I was asked if I could run her home. After doing so, to Wormit, I headed back to Dundee to meet up with an old friend and to try and get fuel gauge fixed. Now at 13.00 hrs it still not reading any fuel, I was a tad anxious.
I topped up the fuel tank to overflowing and eventually headed home so Kris could be dropped off into my arms. The fuel gauge started to work and hit the max reading.
That's the last time I ever wash my car when it's going to be cold overnight!
And rest.
If I'd had Kris as well to walk and feed and keep under control, I dread to think.
Roll on retirement ;-)
