I bought myself a DVD after today's 1960s class. We will not saw a bit of the film, but it was enough to tempt me. Director John Schlesinger went on to win an Oscar for Midnight Cowboy.
We finished Georgy Girl, thank goodness!

The woman sitting next to me asked me why I hadn't wanted children badly enough to have AID (donor insemination) when I was single! I replied that I'd been happy being a nanny, because I could hand the child back at seven, and go off down the offy for a a bottle of cider!
