After 4 weeks in the Maldives
Quite a shock to the system today, the massive change in temperature and weather conditions, never mind not having seen a tractor for 28 days.
Post (or alternative) factually, it was the end not of 4 weeks of white coral sands but of white crisp snow. For the whole of the month our central heating system has been running 24 hours a day - it is programmed to turn off at night unless the temperature drops below -5°C. We have had few days this month when the maximum day time temperature got that high.
The rain and warm air arrived yesterday afternoon causing wide spread chaos s it hit the frozen ground and after a night of frost again caused many problems in parts of Bavaria this morning.
For the morning walk sought out the shelter of gthe forest but it didn't help much and was in fact hard going with the paths still covered in several inches of ice.
Trying to stay away for 4 weeks from the world of Blip, Facebook, Twitter & Co has been a great failure. I thought I could get away from the total chaos happening in the UK & USA. I should have switched off the TV too.
It's difficult to know which of the two countries is more worrying. The USA I guess is a world problem while the UK is a minor local skirmish, the sort of thing one used to sort out by sending around a gunboat. From a very personal, selfish level, the UK is the more worrying - a nation being driven down a long tunnel by a group of deaf and blind maniacs. I feel my generation has totally failed their children and grandchildren.
Well I suppose Lord Bamford is looking forward to earning millions on helping to build "The Wall". This JCB from around 1998 probably belongs to a small part-time forest contractor as it's not a typical heavy duty set up. Still it gave me a Tractor Tuesday Blip and a nice return to the fast track Brexit world.
