We walked up out of Carnforth Station and there it was, set off magnificently against a rare blue sky. It looks like something out of an old film set. Was it here when Brief Encounter was filmed?

I guess it was once a grand cinema. What a posh place to take your girlfriend on Friday night. Now, perhaps, you could buy a frozen pizza and watch a DVD at home.
