Golden hill, dark sky
After the torrential rain of the morning, respite came for a few hours before darkness fell. We climbed the hill in Benmore Gardens by a different route from our usual (which is chosen as giving the longest possible circular walk) and caught the last sunlight on the hill above. At this time of year the dead grass turns all the hills golden, and it was particularly striking because the sky behind it hadn't cleared.
The small wooden chapel-like structure in the shadow is the Andean Refuge where we usually have a breather and look at the view.
My extra photo is of one of the rhododendrons in the Gardens which seem to be flowering ridiculously early ...
