Forth Crossing Earthworks

So these earthworks are being done in preparation for the new Forth Crossing.

At the top left of the picture, the towers of the existing Forth Road Bridge peek over the trees. Immediately below them, a house which I would assume is no longer lived in, a victim of the new works.

The sheer quantity of work being done, and equipment being used to build this new crossing beggars belief. All round the area, you see tracked vehicles, monster trucks and road building equipment.This is just one of several easily-visible building sites, and I am sure that there are road works going on out of sight to build the linking roads.
